Talk: "Anchoring" by Colin McLean
Join us at Haslar Marina's meeting room (next door to the Marina office, also known as Unit 2) for an interesting talk on the best way to anchor given by Colin McLean, Haslar Marina Assistant Manager. Colin's talk will cover anchoring techniques and methods including:
- Different types of anchors and where to use them
- Different types of sea substrates
- Working out tides and suitable depths
- Anchor rope, chain or both
- How much rode to lay out
- Day marks and night lighting requirements
- Kedge anchors
- Anchor windlasses, electric or manual?
- Confession session
- Question and answers
We will be able to buy ourselves a drink in The Creek restaurant from 6 pm and take the drinks with us over to the talk.
After the talk, at 8:30 pm, we can enjoy a pre-ordered meal in the The Creek.
