The Club
Our Vision
The club was formed in 2009 and is affiliated to the RYA. It is run by a small committee for the benefit of the members. It is based in Haslar Marina in Portsmouth Harbour and supported by the boatfolk team at the marina. Haslar Marina is opposite the famous Spinnaker Tower and anyone who enjoys boating in the locality is welcome to join, whether they are boat owners or not and whether their preference is for sail or power.
Inspired by the desire to unite our combined knowledge, past experiences and future efforts for the benefit of our members, the club's vision and objectives are to:
- promote safety at sea, continuous learning but also enjoyment and self fulfilment
- provide social & networking opportunities to build friendships within the marina and club
- broaden the knowledge and experience of members
- provide peer to peer support to build boating confidence
You can read more about the club Rules and formal Constitution as well as the Data Privacy Policy on this site.
Aside from the need for some formality, we don't want to be stuffy, elitist or exclusive; we do want to have fun on the water, have a mixture of motor and sailing members and meet like minded people. You don't have to have a boat, just an interest in boating will do. We are a social cruising club and run a full list of events both on and off the water.
We aim to run a program of events throughout the year including a range of sailing and social activities:
- Organised rallies out on the water, incorporating local weekend cruises in company and potentially longer passages together
- Shore based talks and socials, including our AGM and annual Xmas party
For further information on upcoming events see the 'Events' tab.
We hope you will be interested in becoming a member and we are always looking for volunteers to join the committee.
