New Members and New Berth Holders Event

To welcome our new members to the Haslar Yacht Club and to encourage Haslar Marina's new berth holders to come and see who we are we will be holding a one day rally to Osborne Bay at lunchtime, then an early evening Pontoon Party, followed by dinner on The Lightship at Haslar.

This will be the perfect opportunity to meet the Commodore and committee members and find out about the Club, its activities and what membership can do for you.

When you book on this event you are reserving a place for the evening meal on The Lightship. You don't need to book if you just want take part in the lunchtime sail or the Pontoon Party but it would help if you send an email to me to let me know if you are coming please.

For the first part of the day the idea is to make your own way over to Osborne Bay at about midday and enjoy lunch on your own boat. Haslar Marina will be supporting the event and will send their RIB over to Osborne Bay to say hello to those at anchor and a few members of the Club will be putting around in their dinghies doing the same. In your own time you then make your way back to Haslar Marina and tie up in your home berth.

For the second part of the event we all meet at the new Jetty Bar outside The Lightship at 5:30 pm for a Pontoon Party where you can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine or beer. This will be an ideal opportunity to meet up and get to know current and new members of Haslar Yacht Club. The RNLI will be in attendance to conduct free safety checks on life jackets and answer any questions you may have. Admission to the pontoon party is free.

The third part of the event is evening dinner at 7:30 pm on the newly re-opened Lightship which we pay for individually. If you cant make the trip over to Osborne Bay at lunchtime you can still come to the evening meal as long as you book on the HYC website. Spaces on The Lightship are limited so booking is essential for the evening meal.

We are keen to encourage boat owners in other local marinas to join the Club so please invite them along. They can register their attendance on the HYC website, they don't need to be a member to do this.

HW Portsmouth is 10:48 BST making for a good trip across to Osborne Bay in the morning and back in the afternoon. Ideal!
