New Members and New Berth Holders Event 2025

The destination may be Stokes Bay or Osborne Bay depending on the prevailing wind at the time.

To welcome our new members to Haslar Yacht Club and to encourage Haslar Marina's new berth holders to come and see who we are we will be holding a one day rally to Stokes Bay or Osborne Bay at lunchtime, then some early evening drinks, followed by dinner at The Creek. We will decide the lunchtime destination nearer the time depending on the forecast winds on the day.

This will be the perfect opportunity to meet the Commodore and committee members and find out about the Club, its activities and what membership can do for you. Although this is an ideal one-day rally for new members it has proved to be very popular with existing members who are very welcome to attend.

When you book on this event you are reserving a place for the evening meal at 'The Creek'. You don't need to book if you just want to take part in the lunchtime sail or the early evening drinks, but it would help if you can send me an email to let me know you are coming. 

For the first part of the day the idea is to make your own way over to Stokes Bay or Osborne Bay at about midday, drop anchor and enjoy lunch on your own boat. A few members of the Club will be putting around in their dinghies saying hello to those enjoying the lunchtime sunshine. In your own time you then make your way back to Haslar Marina and tie up in your home berth.

For the second part of the event we will hold a pontoon party (exact location TBC) at 5:30 pm where you can enjoy a few complimentary drinks. This will be an ideal opportunity to meet up and get to know current and new members of Haslar Yacht Club. We are hoping that the RNLI will be in attendance to conduct free safety checks on life jackets and answer any questions you may have. Attendance to the pontoon party is free but please bring your own glasses.

The third part of the event is evening dinner at 7:30pm at the The Creek which we pay for individually. If you can't make the trip over to Stokes Bay or Osborne Bay at lunchtime you can still come to the evening meal as long as you book on the HYC website.

We are keen to encourage boat owners in other local marinas to join the Club so please invite them along. They can register their attendance on the HYC website, they don't need to be a member to do this.
