Channel Islands Easter Rally

This is our first club cruise outside of our home waters and should be ideal for both experienced members and those wishing to embark on their first cross channel adventure.

The plan is to sail from Haslar to Portland where we will meet members of the Portland Yacht Club. The combined fleet will then cross to Guernsey, perhaps stopping at Alderney if wind and tide permit/dictate. Once on Guernsey we will take a view on possible onward passages to Jersey and/or the French coast of Brittany. The Haslar boats will then return from the Channel Islands, probably via Cherbourg. The outline plan is deliberately imprecise as expereince has shown that wind, tide and sea state will ultimately govern our actual passage plans.

We will plan to bring the Haslar Fleet together on the evening of Thursday 21st April ready for a departure west with the tide towards Yarmouth/Poole (or Portland for the motor boats) leaving Portsmouth at around 1300 hrs on Good Friday. Further passage planning will be for discussion once we have a view on the weather a few days before we set off.
