Cross Channel 2024 » Cruise in Company Rally to France Cancelled
Note: The event below has been cancelled due to reasons of weather and availability of those who intended to participate. Some HYC members are still planning to cross the channel but will make their own plans.
We are planning a 'Cruise in Company to Cherbourg, St Vaast-le-Hougue and other French Ports starting on or after the 19th June depending on the weather.
The plan is to leave Haslar early in the morning with a 12-14hr passage to Cherbourg. The assumption is that boats will maintain an average speed of 5kn or more.
We are not booking into any marina or restaurant and will make the cross channel and other passages when weather and tide conditions are favourable.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that they have the correct documentation on board and meet the French and UK entry and exit requirements. All skippers are responsible for the safety of their crew.
Briefings for participants will happen before any passage.
The 'cruise' will probably go to Cherbourg, St Vaast-le-Hougue, Ouistreham-Caen, Honfleur, Le Havre, but the itinerary will probably change dependent on the weather. How long each boat wishes to continue with the cruise before returning to the UK is up to each skipper.
