Cross Channel 2024 » Cross Channel Meeting
This meeting should be helpful to anyone crossing the channel this year, especially first timers. Since Brexit, procedures have changed and I am hoping that some who have crossed the channel in recent years can share their experiences.
I am expecting to cover:-
- necessary paperwork
- UK formalities before leaving
- passage planning
- ports of entry
- entry procedures into France
- a possible itinerary for the 'Cruise in Company'
- exit procedures for France
- returning to the UK
- (I plan is to remain in French waters before returning to the UK, I will cover going to the Channel Islands in case you wish to go there.)
It is worth noting, that if you have a pet, that pet has to enter France on a ferry or plane. The border forces both in France and on the UK side do not have the facilities to process pets on yachts. Also, if you are not a UK or EU passport holder, you should note that the process changed recently.
The meeting will be in the Haslar Conference room on Friday 31st May at 7:30pm. You can sign up here. It will follow the 'Social' also happening that evening which starts at 6pm.
I am expecting that the 'Cruise in Company' crossing of the Channel will be on or after the 19th June depending on the weather. If you are interested in this cruise, you can show your interest (with no commitment) by signing up here. After the meeting, there will be a separate booking form to actually join the channel crossing cruise.
