HYC 2023 AGM

Haslar Yacht Club would like to welcome you to join your Committee at Hornet Services Sailing Club for our very sociable Annual General Meeting where you can hear how the year has progressed, elect your committee, hear about plans for the coming season and help establish the future direction of the club.

If you are interested in helping with the running of the club, please contact any existing committee member who will be delighted to talk you through what that might involve. We currently have one open vacancy for a Committee member that we need to fill, but the more the merrier. Involvement is not onerous, meeting mostly remotely, but helping to run our busy events programme. You will be joining in with an informal group of like-minded sailors and will be helping to keep the club on course for the next year!

As is customary, Haslar Yacht Club will provide a pre-AGM welcome drink from 18:00 - please note the earlier starting time. The RNLI will be there with a range of Christmas cards and diaries for next year if you wish to purchase them. For those who have said they want a meal after the meeting The Hornet have asked us to order and pay for these at the bar prior to the meeting . The meeting will start promptly at 19:00 in the Fabrosa Room and will last 45 to 60 minutes.  Once the meeting closes you will be able to enjoy your evening meal in the clubroom. The club bar will remain open for the rest of the evening.

Please park in the Haslar car park and walk over the bridge to Hornet Services Sailing Club where you will need to check in with security on the main gate. Please also ensure you have some kind of photo ID such as your driving licence as it will be requested.

The itinerary for the evening is:

• 18:00 Reception / Welcome Drink.    Order and pay for your meals at the bar (if appicable).    RNLI Christmas cards and diaries on sale.

• 19:00 EGM and Annual General Meeting starts

• 19:30-20:00 AGM closes

• 20:00 Pre-ordered meals available in the bar area.  

• 23:00 Bar Closes

Club apparel including rugby shirts, polo shirts and burgees will be on sale and please bring cash if you intend to make a purchase (see website for pricing).

Please note this is a members only event and all attendees must be registered by booking a place via our website in order gain access to the site. If you are aware of anyone who is intending to join the club and would like to come to this meeting please forward their details to a member of the committee.
