Queen's Jubilee Rally to Poole

2nd - 5 June 2022

Poole Quay Boat Haven is perfectly positioned to offer a base from which to explore Poole Harbour and its surrounding areas. As well as being right on the quayside with a stunning view of Brownsea Island, the lively cafés, bars and restaurants are all close by. Poole is a lovely destination for those who wish to sail beyond the Solent and use the long bank holiday weekend to travel a little further.

There are some self-guided walks available around the area following the Poole Cockle Trail, leaflets will be provided on the rally or are available at Poole Museum (small charge) or they can be downloaded from the website www.pooletourism.com    There are all sorts of other suggestions of things to do on this very useful website.

We have booked Rockfish seafood restaurant for our evening meal on Friday 3rd June. For Saturday night we have booked La Lupa restaurant on the quay. Both are within a short walk of the marina.

We have arranged a visit to the RNLI Lifeboat College in Poole on the Saturday afternoon starting at 2pm.  The cost is £7.50.  Please book separate tickets for this event.

You may wish to take a trip over to Brownsea Island on Sunday where you can look out for the famous red squirrels and other wildlife. It's only a short trip via the Brownsea Island Ferry which runs from Poole Quay next door to the marina.

A lead boat will be available to help and advise. We will be using VHF Channel 77 as an inter-club frequency for the weekend although monitoring on Ch11 (Portsmouth Harbour) and Ch 12 (Southampton VTS) as appropriate together with Channel 16 is advised.

HW Portsmouth is 14:21 BST on Thursday 2nd June.
