Seagrass and Us - An Interactive Art Event

Seagrass and Us - An Interactive Art Event linked to The Solent Seascape Project

Following on from the talk by Emily Stroud (on Friday 25th Oct) you are now invited to an Interactive Arts Event presented by Abigail Burt. This will take place in the same venue, The Hornet Services Sailing Club, in The Fabrosa room on the Saturday afternoon.

This event could be particularly attractive to those with family and grandchildren who are very welcome to attend.

The itinerary for the afternoon is:

12.00                  Hornet Bar opens for drinks and bar meals at member's own cost

13.30 - 14.00      Arrival and Welcome by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and Abigail

14.00 - 14.15      Seagrass Meadowtation

                           Seagrass soundscape listening

14.15 - 14.45      Storytelling and Memory drawing

                           Participants are invited to share stories, knowledge, encounters with other species, memories, worries, or just listen. (All storytelling is voluntary)

                           Participants led through a drawing activity.

14.45 - 15.00      Wax Sculpting Demonstration

                           Led by Abigail

15.00 - 15.15      Presentation about Seagrass

                           Delivered by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust

15.15 - 16.30      Wax Sculpting Workshop

                           Ethical, Hampshire beeswax supplied by The Noble Bee Company

                          The wax pieces will be collected up and incorporated in a collective sculpture 

                           reflecting the multitude of voices that have joined in the Seagrass and Us Project,

                           to communicate our stories with a future public audience.
