Swanwick Dinghy Dash
Join us for some for fun at the top of the River Hamble. Nestling on the picturesque eastern bank of the river, Swanwick Marina offers excellent facilities and a variety of walks, pubs and restaurants to explore close by. It's also ideally situated as a starting point for a trip up the river by kayak or dinghy!
On the Tuesday evening we will be dining at The Jolly Sailor in Old Bursledon with its stunning views across the river.
On the Wednesday we will be heading up river under the motorway bridge so bring your own kayak, canoe, dinghy or tender and outboard with a little extra fuel to top up in the lunch break. We will be departing Swanwick Marina at 10:30am on Wednesday morning to catch the tide upriver. Our final destination is the Horse and Jockey at Curbridge where we will be stopping for lunch and a drink before taking the afternoon tide back to Swanwick.
After a pontoon party on Wednesday evening we will will have a 'Bring & Share' meal on the pontoon or on boats if the weather is inclement.
On the Thursday, you are welcome to go for a walk in the morning before returning to Haslar.
A lead boat will be available to help and advise. We will be using VHF Channel 77 as an inter-club frequency for the weekend although monitoring on Ch11 (Portsmouth Harbour) and Ch 12 (Southampton VTS) as appropriate together with Channel 16 is advised.
