Gins Farm Rally 25-26 May 2013

This was our first rally to Gins Farm, just a short way up the Beaulieu River. Despite the weather in the lead up to the rally, the Saturday morning dawned bright and sunny with a delightful SW wind ensuring a good sail for the 11 sailing boats and smooth seas for the 4 motor boats. Chris and Pat Porter on board Yasmine had braved the Friday weather to form the advanced guard on the rally. The rest joined on Saturday morning and by mid afternoon all boats were tied up securely. The Royal Southampton Yacht Club and their bosun, John, made sure we all had berths on a particularly busy bank holiday weekend. All 34 of us had an excellent evening meal at the RSYC club house.
On Sunday all made their way to various destinations to enjoy the settled weather for a further day. Definitely a location to add to next years rally plan.
