Christmas Party 2022

The Christmas season started early with our annual party at the Hornet Services Sailing Club on Saturday 3rd December.  The weather was fairly benign - not too cold and no rain or snow!  56 members and guests donned their best "bib and tucker" for the black tie event which started with a welcome drink followed by a three course meal and coffee.

Everything was splendid! Hornet had made a big effort to decorate their lovely dining room with Christmas sparkle, and the tables looked very festive with crackers, balloons and party poppers. Those long balloons that you release and then squeal around in the air always provide plenty of silly fun!

We had great entertainment from Katy Kelly who sang a good mixture of songs during the meal, and then got the dancing going with plenty of well-known numbers we could join in with while we danced.

Everyone was enjoying themselves, either on the dance floor or sitting chatting at the tables or both. We were all in such a good party mood: as Hilary Masters said afterwards "we just seemed to hit our sweet spot".

Our thanks go to the Commodore and Committee for the excellent organisation, and to Hornet for hosting and looking after us so well.
