Frostbite Rally 5th/6th March 2011

Well! The weather was just glorious and all 13 boats had arrived by midday on the Saturday. With our usual near on 50/50 split of motor and sail, we had a great cross section of members vessels from Paul Wood's 18ft 10in yacht to new members Chris & Pat Porter's 54 ft motor cruiser.

All to soon it was time to depart and boats made their way home, some stopping at Cowes Yacht Haven for an excellent Sunday lunch at the Island Sailing Club. |

The Island Harbour Staff were very welcoming and managed to group our fleet close together on A pontoon. Island Harbour continues to undergo a transformation and is firmly on the recommended list for ports of call in the Solent.
On Saturday night our group of 33 people had dinner at The Folly Inn. With the path VERY muddy, Peter and Lin Day organised suitable waterborne transport courtesy of the Folly water taxi service. No evening at The Folly would be complete without some dancing on tables and a few of the ladies felt it necessary .....
All things considered, a great start to our cruising season and, with the increases in club participation for this and future planned events, a great opportunity to meet with friends old and new.
