East Cowes Rally 9/10th October 2021

The End of Season Rally followed on from a very successful talk by Mike OMeara on 'Raising the Gold on HMS Edinburgh' on the Friday evening.
On the Saturday morning, the fleet set sail for East Cowes. Although one boat had travelled across earlier in the week, most arrived by early afternoon. There was very little wind, so only one boat 'sailed' across. Well done to Jonathan and the crew of 'Blue Moon'.
We had 29 people and 13 boats on the rally consisting of:-

We met for informal drinks on the pontoon next to 'Morning Star' at 5:30pm and then at 6:30pm departed on 3 Water Taxi trips to the Island Sailing Club. 
At the Island Sailing club, we all had a great meal and started departing back to East Cowes at about 9:40pm with the last boat leaving at 10:10pm.
Most boats left on the Sunday morning but again unfortunately, there was not much wind. Hilary and I stayed for another day. We left on the Monday morning but only managed to sail for about 30 mins before the wind died again.
The weekend was a great end to our rally season and many people haver remarked how much they enjoyed meeting up.
