    Beaulieu Rally - September 29th/30th 2012

Once again the weather gods smiled kindly down on us. With a brisk NW/SW wind on the Saturday and an increasing W/NW wind for the return on the Sunday, some spririted sailing was enjoyed by the 7 yachts. These were joined by 6 motor boats giving us our usual near perfect 50/50 split of power and sail. Boat Skipper & Crew

If ever a rally was badly named this was it! The weather was magnificent (although not too spirited for sailing). The sun appeared whilst we were all on passage Saturday and the rest of the weekend felt like summer. Having been asked to capture some rally photographs for possible inclusion in the June edition of "Motor Boat and Yachting" we all left the marina together and our boat "Tallulah" operated as the platform for some

  • March Club Night GAFIRS

With the Lightship now fully open, we were able to hold our first monthly club night of 2012 on Friday March 9 th in the Sports Bar. 32 HYC members came along to hear an excellent talk about GAFIRS (Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service). The talk was given by Steve Hobbs, PR man for GAFIRS and covered the history of the organisation, the people involved, the training necessary to develop a rescue
